It is also said that God's glory can be seen throughout this entire film.  Valjean converted to Christinaity; however, before this happened his actions display justification, this than was what rooted to his solidarity. He choses to do these things so that he can justify for the criminal acts he has done before.  At one point in the film Valjean says " They gave me a number and murdered Valjean, when they chained me and left me for dead, just for stealing a moutful of bread..Take an eye for an eye! Turn you heart into stone! This is all I have lived for! This is all I have known" (2012 Film).  This line shows that he believed that because he had stolen the mouthful of bread that God was punshing him causing him pain and grief.  The bishop than decided that he would lie and sin  and lie on Valjean's behalf. He would "buy his soul for God" therefore insisting that he would be able to convert to the ways of God. 

 

Throughout the entire film its is not the reference to God from the Characters but the religious figures that take are present.
