In "Les Miserables" by Victor Hugo has a lot of religious content. in the novel there are many sections which have direct link to content that would be considered religious. In the final section of the book which is called "The two duties; to watch and hope"  the last line states: Should we continue to look upwards? Is the light we can see in the sky one of those which will presently be extinguished?" This line is referring to GOD and how he acts as a light on the darkest of times, in regards to this novel GOD acts as a big part to Jean Valjean's life and how he finds his way out of darkness into the arms and light of GOD.

Each character in this Novel have a specific relationship with GOD and with the other Characters. In the Novel Jean Valjean has a very close realtioship with the bishop and other religious figures throughout the book. In can be seen that the reason he has all this close connections with those that reflect God is beccause he is trying  to have a relationship with GOD himself. Fantine, being a troubled woman trying to provide for her little girl , she  finds herself doing whatever the higher up characters want her to do she seems to fall short of who she really is. Cosette is a young girl who finds herself  with Jean Valjean and away from her mother who she never really could remember.

There is a fair anmount of linkage to GOD in this novel, everyone at some point seems to be asking GOD for some type of forgivness or a light to guide them to where they need to be.
